Gorgeous Punta Mita is sure to please any traveler, but for many of us, the food we eat while on vacation needs to be just as satisfying as the destination.
Those staying at Casa Koko may find that the delectable dishes prepared by onsite chef Estrella Gonzalez make it hard to think about eating anywhere else. However, if you do feel like venturing out for another amazing dining experience, check out the best Punta Mita restaurants.
Dos Catrinas
Dos Catrinas is located inside the Four Seasons resort and is easily one of the best restaurants in Punta Mita. You can try fresh and authentic seafood dishes, such as tacos made with crab or lobster, a gordita with ajillo-style octopus, or red snapper.
Dos Catrinas also serves breakfast and lunch, as well as crafted cocktails at the bar after 5:00 PM. Vegan and gluten-free options are available as well.
Enjoy your meal in the indoor dining room or on the covered patio with a breathtaking ocean view. You can dine at Dos Catrinas from 6:00 AM to midnight, Thursday through Monday.
The dish you cannot miss when visiting Dos Catrinas is the Duck Confit in Mole Rosa, a fantastic combination of crispy skin duck confit, radish, and oregano vinaigrette.
Carolina
Carolina can be found inside the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and is the epitome of elegance and sophistication. You’ll notice as you enter that every detail of the decor has been carefully crafted to perfection, and you’ll be pleased to find that the food shares the same high standards.
Chef Miguel Soltero prepares contemporary Mexican cuisine that remains true to the rich local heritage and is part of a continuously evolving menu. Carolina is an honored recipient of the prestigious AAA Five Diamond Award.
In addition to a bar and dining room, guests can have dinner or cocktails on the outdoor terrace or reserve a private dining room. Carolina is open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM and reservations are required.
Aramara
Aramara is also located inside the Four Seasons resort. Its name comes from the native Huichol language and means, “sacred place by the ocean.”
Aramara is open from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. Enjoy live music at this Asian-fusion restaurant, as well as outdoor dining options. Vegan and gluten-free options are part of the daily menu created by Chef Ester Sanchez.
Cuisine includes fresh local seafood combined with contemporary Asian cooking, and it is known for its signature five-spiced half duck, served with curry apple slaw and warm tortillas.
Finish with a liquid dessert, like the Mezcal S’more Flambe Coffee or El Perla Negra, made with espresso, Licor 43, and Mozart Dark Chocolate. You can also enjoy ice cream, sorbet, souffle, or Japanese yuzu cheesecake, among other tasty treats.
Tuna Blanca by Thierry Blouet
Beach-side Tuna Blanca is another star among the best restaurants in Punta Mita. In fact, it was awarded an OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award in 2020. It manages to be both casual and elegant, and appeals to both tourists and locals because of its exquisite food and romantic atmosphere.
Enjoy live music and air conditioning in the main salon or dine in the bar lounge, on the beach, or on the covered terrace.
Tuna Blanca serves traditional Mexican fare and uses fresh, organic, local ingredients to create gourmet dishes.
Settle in for an unforgettable 5-course meal or choose from an enticing dinner menu, including char-grilled prime beef fillet, roasted rock cornish with garlic and mushrooms, and seared tuna medallions in adobo sauce. There is also a 5-course vegan option and an array of tempting desserts.
Bahia by Richard Sandoval
Bahia is a grill and restaurant in the Four Seasons centered around seafood. It’s a great place to watch the sunset and has menu options designed for children and teens, as well as those seeking gluten-free items.
At the wood grill, you can choose your favorite from a list of marinades and toppings or combine steak and seafood with the surf ‘n turf.
