LEARN HOW TO SCUBA DIVE IN PUNTA MITA

Scuba diving is, by far, one of the most impressive adventures you can enjoy if you, like us, are a passionate about nature and wildlife.

Some have said that the feeling of being underwater is similar to meditation or Tai Chi —it makes you aware of your breathing and the slower pace of your movements makes you focus on admiring the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings.

Learn how to scuba dive is a goal that can make you feel that you achieve something else than relaxing during your vacations in Punta Mita.

The easiest and fastest way to start exploring the submarine world is by taking a PADI Discover Scuba lesson.

It is a 90-minute activity, suitable for guests starting at 10 years old. During the lesson with a professional certified PADI Dive Instructor you will learn some basic theory about scuba, will get familiar with the equipment and practice breathing underwater in a shallow swimming pool.

If you are staying in Casa Koko, the experience will be even more enjoyable as you will be able to take your practice early in the morning in our heated swimming pool. You will feel more comfortable knowing that there is no one around but you and your instructor.

After completing the PADI Discover Scuba program, you will be ready to book your first scuba diving excursion to Marietas Islands, especially designed for beginners.

The PADI Open Water certification requires two swimming pool lessons and two lessons in the ocean, plus some theory you need to study, so a 7-day vacation is the ideal time frame to become a certified diver.

Flying after Diving

It is important to remember that, based on PADI’s safety recommendations, beginner divers shouldn’t fly within 12 hours after a dive, so make sure you let the Concierge at Casa Koko know of your interest in learning to dive in advance.
